Welcome to Fishing Women,

My name is Lucy, I decided to set up Fishing Women to create a sort of hub for female anglers. Not that I feel it is a sexist sport by any means, rather I wanted an opportunity to have a chance to talk to like minded individuals who both fish and are women.

So now it is just a case of spreading the word; letting female anglers know about the site and hopefully, suggesting it as a good sport for women who have never tried it before.

If you have any ideas for the site, please email me, all suggestions are welcome.

Angela from Leeds, is a keen fisher women who has been fishing for many years,
is running for Cancer research in May. If you wish to find out more information on Cancer Research or the Race for Life, please read on...

Angela Lloyd-Ormsher's story...

...What I'm about to say, comes from my heart... I have been touched  from cancer in my life. Not myself directly, but my mum, dad, grandad, step grandma, great grandmas, great grandad, and my many friends have suffered from this horrible disease. I'm trying to raise money for cancer research UK, money that will help give people support, raise awarness and help with future testings. This will be my 3rd year of the doing the 5k, i just want to be able to help others, i know its not a lot of money I'll be raising, but what i do raise (with your help) will be really helping others in the UK...

Shewee Review

I finally purchased a Shewee, after watching Dragons Den and seeing it get slaughted by the panel I plucked up the courage and bought myself one. I do feel it's a very good item to have amongst your fishing kit, but one thing I did find is that once you've used it, it's then dirty.

Most fishing places don't have sinks or you wouldn't take anything to clean it. So apart from having to carry a dirty Shewee around with you, it's actually pretty useful. It saves you from having to sit on dirty toilets and squatting.

Although you may want to practice using the Shewee before you take it fishing. You have to make sure you are holding it correctly underneath yourself else you will find a few damp patches!

So out of 10 I would give it a 7, if I was to suggest anything it would be to sell it with a cleaning kit such as a spray or wipe so it can be used several times.
