Higham Lane Evening Session
Higham lane is set amongst farms around Wykin Village it is mainly used for match fishing at the weekends but still good for pleasure fishing.
When we arrived we all scattered for the best spots, there were myself, partner and dad. I was really enthusiacstic as we used to come to this fishery and be able to pull out 9 - 10lb carp within minutes. After an hour had passed my dad had caught 2 and my partner 0. I was only feeding bread but was sure I'd catch something. After an hour had passed I changed onto my float rod but still had no luck, then suddenly my other road when crazy as it it does and I am sure it's the biggest fish I've caught so far! It must have taken me 20 minutes to get him even close to the bank. Eventually I pulled him in but forgot the most important bit of equipment the scales!! So I'll never know how much he weighed :(

I've also just realised that men actually find it nice to be able to talk to women about fishing, I was speaking to a guy on a night out with my friends and his words were "makes such a change to be able to have a conversation with a woman about fishing without her falling sleep!".
To me thats a result.
PERCH ALERT and a fry up! Weston Lawns, 28th February 09
Well today was another successful fishing day, I had 3 of my favorite things today!
1. Fishing
2. Food
3. Cats
First of all I had my mum and dad come fishing who decided to bring bacon, sausages, eggs, beans and even TOAST! So my mum cooked us a full cooked breakfast which is always good when your fishing.
I also got to test out my new shelter made by TF Gear, I would recommend it but for small women like myself it's very difficult to erect. Once it's all set up it's brilliant, it blocks out all the wind and is very spacious!
Then we were greeted by two pregnant cats on the lake, who decided to make camp around my peg which I loved as I am a cat lover! I must have looked a bit weird fishing with a cat sitting on my lap!
The best part of the day was a 2lb Perch, on one maggot and a size 16 hook. See below for the photo!
Thats all for this Saturday time for sleep!
TIGHT LINES!
Monk's Farm - Bulkington, Warwickshire
Saturday, 21st February.
I went fishing yesterday with my father, uncle and partner, it must have been the most successful fishing day i've had since before christmas.
The day started out grim, I set my alarm for about 6.30am which is never good on a Saturday morning, but I was excited to be going fishing and that fact that the weather men had said it was going to be a nice day!
We arrived at the lake about 8am, greeted my uncle and dad who had been there since 6.30am! Madness I know. We picked our pegs and started baiting up, I was using sweetcorn, maggots and luncheon meat. It wasn't till about 11.30 that the sun started coming out. We finally starting getting bites about 12.30pm thank god.
My first fish of the day was a small but happy roach, followed by another 5 or 6.
I would defo recommend Monk's Farm, the owner has a few restrictions but is all good for the angler.
Unfortunately I didn't catch anything over 2lb so do not have any photo's to show you.
If you have been fishing this weekend, please feel free to comment!!
